Stephen Melville

The Melville lab studies Type IV pili in the Gram-positive pathogen Clostridium perfringens. These pili are needed for motility, adherence to host cells and biofilm formation. The lab uses a combination of bacterial genetics, protein biochemistry and fluorescence microscopy to study pili assembly and function.
