Molecular biology of Brucella infection
Clayton Caswell’s research is focused on the pathogenic bacterium Brucella abortus, which causes debilitating infections in both animals and humans. The group is interested in defining the genetic and biochemical elements that allow Brucella to infect its hosts, with the ultimate goal of developing novel therapeutic agents.
