Mechanisms and consequences of bacterial motility
How motile bacteria sense and react to their environment is the common thread among research activities in the Scharf Lab. This includes how bacteria move towards nutrients and host signals; how motile bacteria become infected by bacteriophages; and how Salmonella colonize tumors.
