The Cortes group aims to understand how chromosome segregation and cytokinesis are coordinated to ensure fidelity in chromosome inheritance during cell division. The group addresses this question with a multidisciplinary approach combining cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, high-end microscopy, and computer modeling. The results will enhance our understanding of carcinogenesis and may lead to new types of cancer therapies.
